I am writing an essay on marriage equality. I believe that we should not take away the rights of other American citizens. If a gay lesbian or transgendered person wants to marry someone of the same sex they can. So I am asking about proposition 8. What are your opinions?

Marriage is a sacred institution that some believe is exclusively heterosexual. That is a religious concept, and in the United States a separation of church and state exists. So gay people deserve legal union ("pursuit of happiness," remember?), even if the Church won’t recognize gay marriage as marriage.

you know my views kayla i think that if people want to marry then why should people stop them it does not affect them in any way so why should the people against it care all that matters is what the people want. why should in this free country people not be allowed to make choice such as this i don’t see anything against it
